Eye on India’s Festival kicked off last night with our Words on Water Author Series at the Poetry Foundation. Vijay Seshadri read a selection of his poems, including a brand new poem he read for the first time! His work touched on politics, not only of the U.S., but of one’s identity. His reading, at times deliberate and at times conversational, was effective. The audience enjoyed the background Seshadri gave on each of his pieces as well as his conversation with Matthew Shenoda.
