Shruti Kirti, Eye on India’s Fashion Director, is busy working with the fashion students from Columbia College Chicago as they conclude the Sari Project for 2016. This year the Advanced Draping class and the Surface Embellishment class took on the project with exciting results! The student’s work takes on different approaches, and draws from various inspirations. The resulting visual differences are quite rewarding.

The next step in the project is an internal selection process where four garments will be selected to advance. These four pieces will be presented at Eye on India’s Gala on June 9th! At the event the guests will be asked to select their favored garment, determining the student who will receive the cash reward for their creativity. The remaining garments will have the honor of being displayed in the Michigan Avenue windows of Columbia College from June to August.

Here are a few sneak peeks of these amazing creations. We look forward to seeing you at the Gala where you can cast your vote for the most creative garment, and to see the exciting results of the Sari Project 2016!
